In close collaboration with the Caribbean Sloth Sanctuary, Selvatura Park showcases the sloth, one of Costa Rica´s most iconic animals in a carefully designed exhibit that replicates their natural habitat and that is home to 20 sleepy, slow-moving, tree-dwelling individuals.

Monteverde Butterfly Garden
Dration: 1 hour and include the following:
- An introduction to Costa Rica bugs, and an orientation to the Gardens.
- An up-close experience with a variety of insects and arachnids.
- A look at our rearing chamber, where caterpillars are becoming butterflies.
- A stroll through our 3 unique gardens, full of spectacular butterflies.
- A stop at our leafcutter ant colony, and a sneaky look inside.
- A wrap-up in our well-appointed gift shop

The Bat Jungle Tour
Designed to introduce visitors to the incredible world of bats, The Bat Jungle in Monteverde offers a world class bat exhibit where live bats fly through a simulated jungle environment.
- Guided tour takes about 45 minutes.
- 90 live bats of 8 species in an enclosure 17m (57ft) in length.
- Our bats fly, eat, socialize, nurse their babies and even give birth right before your eyes.
- Exhibit features a special ultrasonic microphone that allows visitors to hear bats echolocating (biosonar) and socializing in real time.
- Designed and operated by Dr. Richard K. Laval, a well known bat biologist.

Selvatura Reptile & Amphibian
Home to a diverse range of lizards, snakes, and frogs, the custom-built terrariums provide 360° views into their lives and habits guaranteeing a one-of-a-kind experience.
Costa Rica is home to a diversity of reptiles and amphibians and the Selvatura Park exhibition is the perfect introduction to the country´s herpetofauna. The utmost care has been taken to ensure the optimum conditions for the animals and the visitor viewing experience too. Our specialized guides will share lots of interesting and curious facts too!

Monteverde Orchid Garden
In our Orchid Garden we have a collection of more than 450 different species in the same place. More than 120 different types of them in bloom every day. That’s why we have flowers in bloom every day and month of the year.
80% of wild orchids are miniature, therefore, the entrance to the garden includes a guided tour, because many of the flowers have sizes of 1mm to 3cm in diameter, and we do not want you to miss any of them.
In the 45-minute tour you will be able to connect with nature and enjoy peacefully, while learning about wild orchids, hybrids, how to take care of plants at home, and much more.
It is a simple short walk, with accessible trails suitable for all people.
